Obituary.

Kirk, the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Gilchrist, was born Oct. 26, 1897, and died August 28, 1899, being one year ten months and two days old. He was sick only a few days with membraneous croup. Everything possible was done to save his life but in vain and he passed away from this life at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.

He leaves to mourn his death a father, mother two sisters and five brothers. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Christian church in Keasauqua(sp), Rev. Smith officiating; after which his remains were laid to rest in the Purdom cemetery.

He is not dead the child of our affection,-
But gone unto that school
Where he no longer needs our poor protection
And Christ himself doth rule.
