HENRY WARNER.
Henry Warner was born Feby. 18, 1835, in Fairfield county, Ohio, and died at his home near Utica, Iowa, April 29, 1904, being 69 years, 2 months and 11 days old at the time of his death. He was the fifty son of Jonas and Susanna Warner, there being six sons in the family, the youngest dying in infancy. There were also four daughters. Only one son and one daughter of his family are now living, viz: David Warner of Lebanon and Mrs. Daniel Boerstler of Utica.
Deceased moved with his parents from Ohio to Van Buren county, Iowa, in the autumn of 1851. The journey was made overland in wagons, twenty six days being required to make the trip. Here he grew to manhood and ever since made this county his home. He was married to Jane Lewis, Oct. 18, 1857, and to this union were born four children, all of whom are living except George E. who died Nov. 6, 1896. His wife died May 19, 1880, and he was married again to Mary C. Patterson nee Wilson of Lebanon, Iowa, June 5, 1885. No children were born to this union.
Deceased leaves a wife, three children, viz.: Chas. N. Warner, Mrs. A.M. Brady and Mrs. Milton Stilwell; also two step-daughters, Mrs. E.E. Rowe and Mrs. Ira Boerstler, to mourn his departure. In the winter of 1885-6, during a series of meetings, he united with the Free Will Baptist church at Utica, and he has since been a strong supporter and an earnest worker for the church. He was honest and careful in all his business transactions. As a father and husband he was kind and pleasant, looking always toward the bright side of life. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Morley and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Miller's Chapel.
