-Mrs. Eda Greef, whose home had been at Eldora since she, with her husband, moved from Bentonsport a number of years ago, died early last week at Pasadena, California, where she and her husband had gone last fall, hoping the climate might save her from the clutches of consumption with which she was threatened. But that disease fastened itself upon her and could not be shaken off. Several weeks ago Mr. Greef wrote the Republican of the change they had made for a time in their home, and spoke cheerfully of the benefit of the climate they hoped for, and friends, because of this word, gathered to themselves the hope that his wife might recover. Eda was born and grew to womanhood on the parental farm about a mile and a half west of Stockport, this county, and we believe it was there she was united in marriage to her now bereaved husband. All who knew her loved her, for she was indeed a true woman, and in that neighborhood, at Bentonsport where she passed part of her married life, and elsewhere in the county where known, will sorrow come with the information of her death. Besides her husband, she leaves two children, her mother Charlotte Day, two sisters and other relatives. The remains were brought to her home at Eldora for burial. We did not learn her age nor the date of her marriage, but this information may be given in an additional mention hereafter.
