Death of Mr. Callen.

At his home at Bonaparte, June 14, Mr. Martin S. Callen, aged 74 years. Deceased was born in Sevier county, Tenn., Nov. 30, 1824, and came to Iowa in 1843 settling in Van Buren county where he had since made his home. He was married to Miss Jane Scott, Aug. 24, 1845. Seven daughters were born to them, three of them surviving him. His wife died April, 1889.

Mr. Callen was in the employ of Meek Bros. of Bonaparte for about 32 years. He was a man of many sterling qualities, and leaves many friends. The funeral took place form the Baptist church at Bonaparte, June 16, Rev. Barber of Farmington conducting the service.
