Mrs. Maggie Tribilcock McSurley, wife of Mr. James H. McSurley, living three miles north of here, died after a very brief illness Saturday afternoon. Thursday Mrs. McSurley was attacked with peritonitis, and in 48 hours thereafter passed away. Mrs. McSurley was 45 years of age. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tribilcock, and was born near this place. The funeral was held Monday, the services being conducted by Rev. P.A. Johnson of the Congregational church of Ottumwa. It is estimated there were 400 to 500 people in attendance. The burial in charge of the P.E.O.'s, was at the Purdom cemetery. An obituary will be given next week.
