Farmington--Volney C. Therme, 76, of Farmington, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital in Keokuk. He had been seriously ill one month.
Son of Leon and Charlotte Talbott Therme, He was born Feb. 13, 1888, in Clark County, Missouri. Until 1947 he had farmed near Farmington, at which time he moved into town. He was a member of Modern Woodmen of America.
On March 4, 1916 at Keokuk he married Goldie Rider, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons--David of Farmington and Manford of Ft. Madison; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Verna) Johnson of Farmington and Mrs. John (Juanita) Johnson of Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Chaelia Parish of Keosauqua; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by one sister.
Funeral services were held Friday in the Farmington Methodist Church with the Rev. Leroy Moore officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery.
