'Tiny' Nelson Taken In Death

KEOSAUQUA, Ia. - Leonard Valentine "Tiny" Nelson, 62, died at Memorial hospital on Sunday morning following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at the Catcott Funeral home in Keosauqua on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Hoyt Whitebread of Fairfield in charge. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery at Cantril.

He was born in Hardin county on Feb. 14, 1903 and moved with his parents to Van Buren county in his youth, where he has resided since that time.

On Nov. 3, 1928 he was married to Clara Kaiser of Cantril.

Nelson was employed with Van Buren county road maintenance department for 19 years and for the past 17 years has worked for the state highway commission at Keosauqua. He had been foreman for the past 13 years.

He was a member of the Lutheran church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Sharon Ambrose and one granddaughter of Iowa City, one sister, Mrs. Rosie Rasmussen of Regan, N.D., and a brother, Sam Nelson of Milton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
