MRS. J.W. McCLAIN
Maggie Weiher, daughter of Augustus and Jane Weiher, was born near Bonaparte on Sept. 7, 1865, and died at her home in Ft. Madison on Monday, on Nov. 23, after an illness of several months duration, her age at the time of her death being 61 years.
She was united in marriage with J.W. McClain of Farmington on Nov. 3, 1886, and the home was at Farmington for many years. They then moved to Lee county where they resided for several years and lived in Donnellson for some time, coming to Bonaparte where they made their home until about six years ago when they moved to Ft. Madison.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Peter Nirstine of West Point, and six grandchildren; also three sisters, Mrs. A. Hardesty of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Mattie Stedman and Mrs. Nancy White of Bonaparte; one brother, William Weiher of Bonaparte, and other relatives. One sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held from the Santa Fe M.E. church in Ft. Madison on Wednesday, Nov. 24, with Rev. Walter C. Plank, pastor of the church of Ft. Madison officiating. Interment was in Oakland cemetery in that city.
