SARAH ELIZABETH STEEVES

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Steeves, daughter of Robert T. and Mary Ann Reed, was born March 7, 1869, at Pittsburg and died August 31, 1940, at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 24 days.

On April 28, 1886, she was united in marriage with James Harvey Steeves, who preceded her in death. To this union were born two sons, Carl and Kendall.

While still a young girls she became a member of the Methodist church at Pittsburg. When she moved to Eldon 36 years ago she transferred her membership to the Methodist church there. She was an active member of the ladies aid as long as her health would permit. She was a member of the Degree of Honor. Mrs. Steeves had been in failing health the last five or six years.

She is survived by her two sons, Carl of Colton, Calif., and Kendall of Livingston, Mont., one brother, D.O. Reed of Pittsburg, one granddaughter, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Campbell funeral home at Eldon September 3 and were in charge of the Rev. G.W. Baker. Burial was at Pittsburg.
