Death of Mrs. M.N. Franks Occurred Last Monday - Funeral Wednesday.

Died Monday, January 27, 1913, at her old home in this city, Mrs. Minerva N. Franks, widow of the late Solomon C. Franks, aged 64 years, 7 months and 27 days.

Mrs. Franks was born in Fredericksburg, Ohio, May 30, 1848, and was united in marriage with Solomon C. Franks in 1871. The family moved to Bentonsport, Iowa, in 1879 and came to Farmington in 1895. Her husband died September 5, 1912. She was the mother of six children, all of whom survive her as follows: Mr. Hattie Rockey, of Suguache, Colo., Mrs. Alta McCutcheon, of Auburn, Wash., Wm. N. Franks, of Atlantic, Iowa, Mrs. Anna McCracken, of Bonaparte, Iowa, Clarence P. Franks, of Farmington, Iowa, and Mrs. Jennie F. Sawyers, of Hannibal, Mo. She also leaves a large number of grand-children, one great-grandchild, and a brother, John Nixon, of Apple Creek, Ohio.

In her early life Mrs. Franks was a member of the Methodist church, but since coming to Farmington had been affiliated with the Congregational church.

Funeral services were held at the residence of her son, C.P. Franks, Wednesday afternoon, January 29, in charge of her pastor, Rev. D.W. Phillips.
