MRS. ANN DAVIS.
Ann DeHart was born at Columbus territory of Iowa, May 11, 1839. She died at her home in Monte Vista, Colorado, Nov. 1, 1909, being at the time of her death, 70 years, 5 months and 20 days old. She was united in marriage to Charles Davis, March 12, 1863. To this union were born, three boys and three girls. Five children are left, with the husband and father, to mourn th loss of a true wife and mother.
Mrs. Davis united with the Christian church, November 1, 1895, and continued a faithful member of the same until the time of her death. She was truly one of the pioneer women of Iowa, for her entire life was spent, until January 18, 1908, when the family removed to Colorado, in the hope of improving the health of one of the daughters. Here she grew to womanhood, here she was married, here her children grew to manhood and womanhood, except one son who was called away in his early boyhood, and here she will be missed and mourned by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. church at Keosauqua, Iowa, conducted by Elder Moody, of the Christian church, assisted by Rev. Perkins of the Congregational church, and Rev. Thorn of the M.E. church. Burial was in the Fellows cemetery. A short funeral service had been previously held at the home in Monte Vista, Colorado, conducted by Eld. M.M. Nelson, of the Christian church.
