Death of Elbert N. Brown

Elbert M.(??err) Brown, son of the late Noah G. Brown, of Bentonsport, died in Chilcotte, Ohio, May 25, 1915. The exact details of his sudden death are not known as yet but it is supposed an operation for gall stones resulted fatally. He was born and raised to young manhood in Bentonsport, then went to California, where he took up his work as a train dispatcher. He was promoted from time to time and was superintendent of the Southern Pacific at Tucson, Arizona, and other places, being with this line at Mazatlan, Sonora, Mexico, during the early part of the trouble there and left after the city was bombarded. He leaves two children, a son Grove, also a daughter, Ada, who was to graduate from high school, June 3rd. Also two sisters, Mrs. Hattie R. Greef of Los Angeles and Mrs. Cora McDonald of Des Moines. The body was taken to Los Angeles for burial.
