JOHN J. KERR

John J. Kerr was born in Bonaparte, Iowa, March 24, 1850, being the third son of Wm. and Susan Kerr, and grew to manhood in the town where he was born and reared.

On May 15, 1873, he was married to Cordelia N. Callen, who survives him in the home where they have spent their married life and where he passed away quietly Saturday afternoon, April 27, 1929, having attained the age of 79 years, 1 month and 27 days.

His entire life having been spent in this community he was known by all residents of the town and the countryside, among whom he lived and labored as long as health and strength permitted. The past year his health along with his eyesight has failed perceptibly, but not until the past ten days, during the serious illness of his wife and companion of so many years, caused him to succumb to the attack of both.

The deceased is the last of his family of brothers and sisters, and he is survived by his wife and four sons-George M., Arlie C., and Wayne C. of Bonaparte, and William B. of Tacoma, Wash., whose recent illness prevented him from being present. Two daughters, Roxana B. Long and Daisy N. Rigsby preceded him in death. Besides grandchildren and other relatives he leaves many friends who will miss him deeply for he was a good friend and neighbor.

Funeral services were held at the late home on Monday afternoon with Rev. A.C. Droz in charge. Interment in Bonaparte cemetery.
----------
We desire to thank the friends and neighbors for their kindness and sympathy in our bereavement.
Mrs. N.C. Kerr and Family
