Death Takes Old Resident.

Death enered the home last Thursday morning and removed Mrs. Mary Meek, and the spirit of sadness prevaded the city, and many warm friends mourn sincerely for her. The sad tidings, while dreaded, were not unexpected, as all reports from the bedside gave only the most discouraging news, and we were in a measure prepared for the end, but this did not in the least lessen the severity of the loss to the family and friends. For fifty-seven years this good woman had resided here, and in the years had presistently gained in the love of our people, until she could count every one her friend. She was one of the early settlers in this section and did much to bring to the present generation the good society and many conveniences enjoyed today
