Orrin Franklin Minor was born in Wisconsin, March 14, 1857, and died at his home on Vernon Prairie, Dec. 3, 1907, aged 50 years, 8 months and 10 days. On May 29, 1887, he was united in marriage to Olive Walter, who survives him. Three brothers, two sisters and two nieces, who were raised by Mr. and Mrs. Miner also mourn his departure. Brother Miner was converted in 1885 and united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Vernon, Iowa. In 1904 his membership was transferred to Story Chapel, of which class he remained a member to the time of his death. Frank Miner was known among his neighbors as a man of genial disposition, always trying to look on the bright side. In his sickness, though attended with much suffering, he was always optimistic, battling bravely with the disease that wasted his life. He was a hard worker, always ready to do his share, and more. He will be missed on Vernon Prairie by his associates. Funeral services were conducted at Story Chapel by the Rev. Blagg, Dec. 4, 1907, and the body was laid away in the Thompson cemetery.
