Mrs. Addie Pearson was born Sept. 25, 1847, and departed this life at Keosauqua, Iowa, Sept. 29, 1905. She was married to P.A. Pearson Oct. 15, 1867. To this union were born seven children, four boys and three girls. Three boys and one girl died in infancy. One adopted daughter, Grace, with these three children, remain to mourn the loss of a loving mother. Her husband was killed by lightning(sp) some 11 years ago. Mrs. Pearson had great burdens to bear but she showed great christian fortitude. She joined the M.E. church at the age of 9 and continued faithful until the end. A mother's hand is palsied in death, a mother's voice is stilled, but it will help swell the anthem of redemption on love's eternal shore. She passed without a struggle from a life of suffering and toil to reward and pleasure. Appropriate funeral services were held at her late home in Keosauqua, Sunday, Oct. 1st, by the pastor, Rev. P.H. Hawk, assisted by Rev. Carson, after which her body was laid to rest in the Pittsburg cemetery to await the call of Him who said He was the way, the truth and the light.
