Henry Hill was born in Clark county, Mo., July 9, 1878, and died at La Junta, Colo., April 16, 1906, aged 27 years, 8 months and 7 days. He was left an orphan at an early age, but the love and care bestowed upon him by near relatives of his father, never allowed him to realize his loss. Bentonsport was always his home and he was educated in the schools at that place. After leaving school his ambition pointed to a profession, and he entered a law office in Oklahoma, but finding that out of door work was what he required he gave up the study of law. He was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church and was always in this place at both church and Sunday school. He was a member of the lodge of M.W.A. of Ft. Madison, the remains being accompanied to this place by a member of the lodge at La Junta, who spoke of him in terms of highest praise. The burial was at Bentonsport April 19 and was attended by many old friends and neighbors.
