BONAPARTE - Emery Franklin, 77, native of Jefferson County, died at his home in Bonaparte Tuesday, May 15.
Funeral services will be at the Bonaparte Church Thursday at 2 p.m. with burial in the Brethren Cemetery near Libertyville.
The son of General Grant and Hannah Bonnett Franklin, he was born May 7, 1896, at Batavia.
Emery Franklin was united in marriage in 1922 to Rosie Clark Morgan. She died in 1925.
Franklin is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Carpenter, Bonaparte; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Lloyd F. Morgan, Winfield, and Elbert Morgan, Davenport; one stepdaughter, Emogene Morgan; and a brother, Robert Franklin, Keosauqua.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, one sister, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
