Charles Hinman Bonney, only son of J.H. and Mrs. O.F. Bonney, was born at Keosauqua, Iowa, August 25, 1867, and died at Plattsmouth, Neb., March 21, 1905. His home had always been in Keosauqua until May, 1900, when he was married to Miss Belle Drew and went to live at Plattsmouth where he was employed in the C.B.&Q. railroad shops. His wife died the next year. On March 20, 1903, he was married to Miss Catherine Rishel of Plattsmouth. After an illness of about five weeks he came to his death by a cancerous tumor in the brain. He was a member of the I.O.O.F., having been initiated into Keosauqua lodge No. 3 November 16, 18895. He attained the first degree November 23, the second November 30, 1895, and the third Dec. 7. He was honored by being elected to the office of Vice Grand and was installed into that office Jan. 15, 1898. He was installed into the office of Noble Grand July 9, 1898. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Both of these organizations were very kind during his illness. He leaves a wife, mother and three sisters. The burial was in the Oak Lawn cemetery at Keosauqua Friday, March 24, the services being in charge of Rev. Ingham of this place.
