DAKE, Ulysses Grant: 1866-1905

ULYSSES G. DAKE.

Ulysses Grant Dake was born June 17, 1866, and died March 29, 1905. At the time of his birth the family were living near Indianapolis, Indiana. In the fall of 1885 they moved to southern Missouri and in the fall of 1889 to Iowa. Since that time most of his life was spent in our immediat vicinity. Last fall he purchased what was known as the A.H. Lane place, and at the time of his death was living there with his siter and her child.

For several years past he suffered sever affliction and during the last few weeks of his life endured much pain but was very patient through it all. He was always upright, honest and kind and had many friends. He leaves an aged father, two brothers and six sisters to mourn him, his mother having died July 20, 1896. He was laid to rest beside her in the Center Chapel cemetery, March 31, services conducted by Rev. Carson of that charge.
