ASKREN, LAGLE, GRUBBS

Catherine Askren Lagle was born in Kentuky Nov. ??, 1820 died Sunday evening at 6 o'clock, Jan. 29, 1905, at the homeof her daughter, Mrs. Henry Grubbs at Leando, Iowa.

She was united in marrriage to Jas. A. Lagle, March the 4th, 1849 and to this union was born 8 children, four boys and two girls with the husband preceded her to the better land.

At her death she was 75 years, 2 months and 9 days old. She had been a great sufferer for the last year with cancer of the stomach and liver which caused her death. She was a patient sufferer, loving and kind mother and neighbor and loved by all.

There are left to mourn, one son, Henry Lagle, two daughters, Mrs. S.N. Askren and Mrs. Henry Grubbs. Fifteen grand and four great grand children.

She was a member of the M.E. church from which at Leando, Jan. 31, at 10 o'clock a.m. the services were held conducted by Rev. Shane of Selma. The body was laid to rest in the Leando cemetery.
