Josie Linn Ward, daughter of Joseph and Hulda Ward, was born in Vernon, Iowa, Sept. 1, 1881 and died at her home in Acasto, Mo., Jan. 21, 1903, aged 21 years, 4 months and 20 days. She united with the M.E. church at Bentonsport in 1892 and remained a faithful and consistent member of the same until she died. She was a kind and affectionate daughter, the youngest in the family, which consisted of 6 children, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, all of whom with the exception of one sister survive. The father died when Josie was 7 years old. Her funeral was preached by Rev. Collier at Story Chapel and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjacent.
