Gilbert Rites At Keosauqua

KEOSAUQUA - Memorial services were held Sunday afternoon in the United Methodist Church in Keosauqua for Mrs. Jennie Cook Gilbert.

Mrs. Gilbert, a resident of Keosauqua for years until moving to Wesley Acres in Des Moines in 1955, died at the age of 100 March 1. She had willed her body to medical science.

The Rev. James M. Ford conducted the memorial service, with vocal music by Keith Gaston and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Strait. They were accompanied by Mrs. Herman Green, organist.

Mrs. Gilbert was a native of Ellisville, Ill. She was married July 8, 1896, to Hiram F. Gilbert.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Esther Artham, Rockville, Md., and Mrs. Helen Burton, Des Moines. They attended the memorial services at Keosauqua Sunday. There are also four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, two sons preceded her in death.
