Injuries Fatal To Carol Wells

BIRMINGHAM - Carol M. Wells, 20, former resident of Birmingham, died early this morning at a hospital in Rochester, Minn., from injuries she suffered in a car-train crash at Mason City last night.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 Saturday in the First Christian Church at Clear Lake with the Rev. James S. Kratz officiating. The casket will then be brought to Van Buren County where graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Cantril Cemetery with the Rev. Chester Werft, Stockport, officiating. Local arrangements are in charge of the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham.

The accident victim lived in Birmingham when she was a small child and attended Birmingham grade school. She graduated with honors from the Mason City high school in 1970 and had been attending North Iowa Community College at Mason City. She was a member of the First Christian Church at Clear Lake.

Carol M. Wells was the daughter of Everett and Mable Whitcanack Wells. In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Kriss, of Iowa City.
