Buried in Grinell.

Died, on Monday, May 23, 1903, Mary M. Hale. This simple announcement ends the life work of a truly good woman and brings sadness to her large circle of friends and relatives.

Mrs. M. Ford was born in the year 1841, being 68 years old at her death.

She was twice marrid and the husbands both preceded her to that other land. In 1857 she was united in marriage to Jno. Close and 9 children blessed the union, _?_ daughters and one son yet living. Mr. Close died in 1890 and in '92 she married E.M. Hale of Newton, and the home was afterwards made there and at Vinton, Waterloo and Farmington. In 1901 her husband departed this life and the wife had since been living with her children.

She died at the home of her daughter.

She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Weiher and a short service, conducted by Rev. Jones, was held Monday afternoon and on Tuesday the body was shipped to Grinnell for interrment.
