Allen G. Lippencott was one of the best citizens of Van Buren county and was held in high esteem by our citizens during his long residence among them. He was born March 19, 1833 in Richland county, Ohio and died at Keosauqua, Iowa, Feb. 10, 1903 aged 69 years, 10 months and 21 days. He came to Van Buren county in 1839 and settled with his parents in Henry township where he resided until he moved to Keosauqua in 1892. On Jan. 29, 1857, he married Miss Sarah A. Davis, who died about 15 months before her husband. Two children were born to them, one Mrs. W.C. Cheney still living. Politcally Mr. Lippencott was a democrat, and religiously he was a member of the Congregational church. He was also a long time member of the Odd Fellows lodge.
