Gladys Stone Rites Monday

KEOSAUQUA - Mrs. E. Gladys Stone, 72, Mount Zion, died Friday at the Ottumwa Hospital where she had been a heart patient since Feb. 10.

Mrs. Stone was a member of the Bethel Free Methodist Church southwest of Douds where services will be conducted by the Rev. John Harrell Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Arrangements are in charge of the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Mrs. Stone was born Oct. 1, 1903 in Jefferson County, the daughter of John and Laura Shepherd Adler. She was married April 16, 1920 to Lonnie Stone Sr.

The couple lived in Fairfield until moving to the Douds-Selma area in 1945. Since 1968 they had lived in the Mt. Zion community.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Lonnie Jr. of Floris and Edward of Keosauqua; three daughters, Mrs. Jane HUDAK, Elizabeth, Pa.; Mrs. Norman ORMAN, Floris, and Mrs. Betty STEELE, Bloomfield. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Frank Adler, Keosauqua, and Merle Adler, Fairfield; and one sister, Mrs. Grace Edler, Selma.
