Pauline Janet Teal, 89, of Keosauqua died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Keosauqua United Methodist Church of Christ, with the Rev. Charles McCracken and the Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery in Keosauqua.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with family present from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials to Keosauqua United Church of Christ may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 2, Keosauqua 52565.
Mrs. Teal was born Nov. 13, 1913, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Paul and Lena Ellis Daughrity. She married Norwood Teal Nov. 2, 1935, in Keokuk. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Teal graduated from Keosauqua High School in Keosauqua in 1932 and attended Parsons College in Fairfield. She taught school at the Bentonsport Academy, wrote for the Van Buren County Register and retired from Van Buren Telephone Co. in 1970.
She was a member of Chapter I, P.E.O. and Order of Eastern Star. She also was active in many community activities and clubs.
She was a member of Keosauqua United Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Wright and husband Brad of Albert Lea, Minn., Shirlee Smith and husband John of Keosauqua and Jayne Richardson of Webster City; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Josephine Morris.
