DAVID B. ENDERSBY

Born September 18, 1883, and Died
in Alberta, Canada, April
First, 1903.

OBITUARY SKETCH.

David B. Endersby was born September 18, 1883 and died April 1, 1903, age 19 years, 6 months and 13 days.

David was the youngest of 12 children, eight of whom are living. He leaves a father, mother, six brothers and two sisters besides a host of frinds [sic] to mourn his early death.

On July 3, 1902, accompanied by his mother he started west hoping that a change of climate would prove beneficial to his health.

They visited his two brothers in Montana until October when they went to Canada where he died at the home of his brother A. E. Endersby.

He never lost courage until about three days before his death when he realized he must go. He seemed to be at peace with God and man and talked with his friends about going.

He often spoke to his mother about having to go home alone but when she told him she would take him back he seemed contented.

He wished to se his father, brothers and sisters. At the last he asked his brother to raise him up, saying he could not see and would never see them again and quietly passed away.

His mother made the entire journey from Canada to Ottumwa, Iowa, alone with the remains of her boy and was there met by the father. They left Canada Thursday evening and reached Hillsboro, the old home, Tuesday a. m.

David was a bright boy, a graduate of the Bonaparte High School and it was his desire to have a college education but at this early age death claimed him. Thus are the hopes and ambitions of life blighted.

The funeral sermon was preached by Elder Berkeley of Stockport at the old home after which the remains were laid to rest in the Bales cemetery.

The bereft family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
