Levin T. McCabe, one of Troy's most worthy citizens, died on Monday Jan. 19, 1903. He had never been a very rugged man, but early last fall dropsy set in with other troubles causing his death. Mr. McCabe was born in Ohio, Jan. 31, 1839. When quite young he came with his father to Iowa, where he has since resided. Of his father's family four brothers and three sisters are living and all but one sister was present at the funeral services. On Sept. 5, 1866 he was married to Hannah M. Edwards who remains to mourn her loss. To this union were born two children, Adda A. McCabe, who died in childhood and Luella McCabe, now the wife of A. G. Troutman, of Bonaparte. He leaves one grand-child and namesake Levin Troutman. The Presbyterian church was crowded at the funeral services held at 2:00 p. m., Wednesday. The remains were interred in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Mr. McCabe had been a resident of Troy for the past 19 years and will be greatly missed by our citizens. He was upright in all his dealings and obliging as a neighbor. - Milton Herald.
