Miss Manning was a daughter of the late Edwin Manning and was 72 years old. Miss Manning was educated in New England. She had not made her home here since early in life. She had traveled extensively in this country and in Europe and was planning to visit Alaska this summer when taken sick. She was a person of strong character, and her intellectual interests were in worthy things.

The following from the Santa Monica Outlook of May 31 is received from Mr. Calvin Manning:

Miss Anna G. Manning residing at No. 27 Arcadia Terrace in this city died at the private hospital of Mrs. Martin, corner of Eighth and Santa Monica boulevard today at 4:30 a.m.

She was in her seventy third year.

Her illness was of about two weeks duration, although she was suffering to some extent for several months.

Miss Manning has been a resident of Santa Monica for eight years. Coming to California from Iowa, her father, Edwin Manning of Keosauqua, Iowa, was one of the very early pioneers of Iowa. Miss Manning was a member of the First Presbyterian church and of the Santa Monica Bay Woman’s club. Her brother, Calvin Manning of Ottumwa, Iowa, and his wife reached her bedside last Friday and were with her at the end.

Miss Manning, during her residence here impressed her personality on a large circle of friends and she will be missed by many who formed strong attachments to her.
