David C. Spees

BIRMINGHAM - David C. Spees, 53, of rural Birmingham died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 1994, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Spees was born March , 191, in Fairfield to Coyner F. and Evelyn Mae Wyckoff Spees. He lived his entire life in the Birmingham community, where he farmed the family farm. He also worked at the Co-Ed Theater and Ben's Honda, both in Fairfield. He was active with Midwest Old Threshers in Mount Pleasant.

He married Pauline E. McKeehan on Dec. 27, 1961, in Stockport. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra Buch of Fairfield and Deavin Spees at home; one son, Steve Spees of Fairfield; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bruce Spees.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham, the Rev. Sara Malone officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham.

Open visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will recieve friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials to the donors' choice may be left at the funeral home.
