The End of A Beautiful Life.
Mrs. Anna A. Moore, eldest daughter of James A. and Rachel Brown, was born in Westmoreland Co., Penn., December 19, 1833, and died in Bentonsport, Sept. 8, 1901, being at the time of her death sixty seven years, eight months and nineteen days of age. She removed to Iowa with her parents in April, 1840, where she grew to woman-hood. She was united in marriage to Geo. L. Moore Aug. 29, 1854. To this Union were born ten children, three of whom preceded her to the better world. The husband also departed this life, June 21, 1899. Those who remain to mourn the loss of a mother are Seth R., Robert P., James B., and Kitty Moore of Bentonsport, Mrs. Georgia Hurd of Kansas City, Mrs. Minnie Mason of Eldon, and Mrs. Elizabeth Booth of Bonaparte. Mrs. Moore early in life gave her life to the Savior and lived a noble and consistent life to the time of her death. She was one of the Charter members of the Presbyterian church in Bentonsport at its organization March 12, 1853, and her great and constant desire was to assist in the upbuilding of Christ's Kingdom. Many eulogies might be said of her kindly acts, her noble christian character and her charity to all for none knew her but to admire and love her pure and noble life. Mrs. Moore was the last of four sisters to be called away, but like those gone before, when the summons came it found her ready. Mrs. Moore besides her children leaves five brothers who sympathize with her bereaved children and mourn the loss of their dear last sister. Her funeral was held at her late residence in Bentonsport, Tuesday at 2 P. M., Rev. C. S. McElhinny conducting the services. Friends and relatives from Bonaparte, Keosauqua, Eldon, Keokuk, Fairfield, and Kansas City attended the funeral.
