Stockport- Chester Ellis Bagby, 78, of rural Stockport, died at 1:55 p.m. Monday, April 27, 1992, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Stockport United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sara Malone officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Fairfield. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at Behner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to Stockport United Methodist Church.
Bagby was born July 29, 1913, near Stockport, the son of James and Mary Warner (sic. Warning) Bagby. He married Berdena M. Anderson on Aug. 14, 1933, in Kahoka, Mo. He had lived all of his life in the Stockport community, where he was a farmer and truck driver. He was a member of Fairfield Elks Lodge 1192.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Dean Harold of Morning Sun; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Zella Keller of Fairfield. His parents, six brothers, Harry, Tom, Lawrence, Vern, Frank, and Harley, preceded him in death.
