BRIGHTON – Funeral services are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton for Harry S. Bagby, 78, who died at Washington County Hospital Thursday at 10 a.m. He had been a patient for three weeks.
Bagby was born Aug. 18, 1896 near Cantril, the son of James O. and Mary Warning Bagby. He was married to Gladys B. Jenkins Aug. 3, 1918. She preceded him in death Dec. 21, 1963.
The deceased was a farmer and later custodian of the Brighton schools for 18 years, retiring in 1962. A WWI veteran, he was a member of the Brighton United Methodist Church and a member of the Brighton American Legion Post.
Bagby is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Bagby of Davenport; one sister, Mrs. Laurence Keller of Fairfield; five brothers, Verne of Birmingham, Tom, Frank and Lawrence of Fairfield and Chester of Stockport and several nieces and nephews.
