REV. JOS. CHENEY DIES AT KEOSAUQUA
Keosauqua, Dec. 23.-Rev. Joseph Cheney died Friday afternoon at his home in Keosauqua. With him at the time of his death were his wife, son Charles of Minneapolis, Minn., and daughter, Miss Amy. Two other children, son Edward of Schenectady, N.Y., and daughter Alice of Tokio, Japan, were absent.
The greater part of the Rev. Mr. Cheney's splendid and useful life has been spent in or near here and in his death Keosauqua loses one of her best known and best beloved son.
In early life the Rev. Mr. Cheney chose the ministry as his profession and for many years was an active Methodist minister, serving in Ft. Madison, Bloomfield, Troy, Brimingham and Libertyville. Several years ago, however, he became deaf, which affliction caused him to retire from active service.
