Mrs. Emma Carlson, 84, of Hillsboro, died Sunday at 6:00 P.M. in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua. She had been ill 10 days.

She was born Dec. 23, 1884, in Henry County, Ill., the daughter of Swan and Beatrice Nelson Almquist.

She married Frank Oscar Carlson on Dec. 31, 1929 in Moline, Ill. He preceded her in death.

She spent most of her life in Moline and the Chicago area until moving to Hillsboro 4 1/2 years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Her only survivors are nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 2:00 P.M. at the Stackhouse Funeral Home at Cambridge, Ill. Burial was in Andover Cemetery, near Cambridge.

The body was removed from Miller's Home for Funerals at Donnellson on Monday and taken to Cambridge.
