**Handwritten above heading: 20 Nov 1969 RecordLloyd M. Clawson, 54, of rural Douds, died at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua shortly after his arrival there Monday, Nov. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Death was due to a heart attack.
He had been an employe of John Morrell & Co. since 1951.
The son of Charley and Gertrude Potts Clawson, he was born in Ottumwa Nov. 10, 1915. He lived in Ottumwa most of his life prior to moving to Douds area four years ago.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He entered the service Feb. 3, 1945 at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., served in the Phillipines, and was discharged Jan. 16, 1946 at Camp Beale, Calif.
He was a member of Local No. P-1, Amalagamated Meat Cutters.
He was married to Ruth Lawson on July 31, 1935, in Ottumwa. She survives. Also surviving are six sons, Gary of Danville, Barry of Richmond, Mo., Thomas of Gladstone, Ill., Michael of New London and Spec. 4/C Danny, in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam, and Timmy at home; one daughter, Kathy, at home; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Bud Clawson of Bloomfield Route 3; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hazelwood and Mrs. Rosalie Townsend, both of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in dath by infant twin daughters in 1952 and by his parents.
Funeral services are pending at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Ottumwa awaiting the arrival of the son from Vietnam.
