Mrs. William Martin
Mary Jane Bryan, daughter of William and Nancy Bryan, was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, May 1, 1851, and after a lingering illness of several months was called home to her reward on Wednesday, August 6, 1924.
At an early age she united with the Methodist church and remained a faithful and true member until death.
On March 27, 1878, she was united in marriage to William Martin. To this union were born five children, all of whom survive: Bert, at home, Ray, Nancy, Beuiah and Cora, all of whom ministered to the mother and gave all the care tender and loving hands could give. Besides these children she leaves to mourn her loss two stepchildren, to whom she had been a real mother, Frank Martin of Bonaparte, and Charles Martin of Fairfield; two brothers, Milton of Washington and John of Oregon; fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
She was one of the most patient and uncomplaining sufferers, never murmuring, and accepting her cross as the will of the Father to whom she entrusted her lot.
Mother is gone. She was hard to give up, but we do not wish her back, for she is where suffering and sorrow is not known, and where she is resting after her loving labor covering a period of 73 years, 3 months and five days.
A loving mother and wife has gone where we hope by the will of God to join her in eternal glory.

We wish to thank the many kind friends who assisted us with kindness and sympathy during the last illness and death of our beloved mother.
