JOHN S. FRAZIER
John Samuel Frazier was born near Nebraska City, Nebraska, on January 12, 1865, and died at his home in Birmingham, Iowa, February 18, 1943, aged 78 years, 1 month and 6 days, following a long illness. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church in Birmingham Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev. R. T. Richards, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial in Maple Hill cemetery at Birmingham.
He was married to Sarah Catherine Hinson October 16, 1891 and to them were born six children, five of whom survive, one son, Winford, died in infancy. They are: Mrs. Stella Yardley, Fairfield; Mrs. Abbie Yardley, Oelwein; Mrs. Josephine Bagby, Keosauqua; Elmer Frazier, Marion, Iowa, and Ephraim Frazier, Chicago. Also 23 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
He had lived in Fairfield and Birmingham and vicinity for 25 years and was engaged in farming the greatest part of his life.
