J. T. Rodgers, 88, died Oct. 20 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earl August east of Fairfield. Funeral services and burial were in Fairfield Friday. He was born in Jacksonville, Ill. and moved to Jefferson county in 1865 and to Fairfield in 1916. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on Sept. 3. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children, Homer of Birmingham, Mrs. August, Clarence, Burdette and Mrs. Victor Bates, all of Fairfield, Elmer of Canton, Ill. and Harry of Shenandoah.
