Van Buren Co. Genealogical Society Obituary Book, Page 251, Keosauqua Public Library, Keosauqua, IA

Tuesday evening, about 10 o'clock, occurred the death of Joseph Graham at his home in the south (smeared) of town. Mr. Graham has (smeared) confined to the house the past winter, his trouble being a weakening of the heart with other complications. Tuesday morning he was not so well and about 10 o'clock went to sleep, which seemed to be natural, but could not be aroused in the evening, and passed peacefully away at the time named. The immediate cause of his death is tho't to be the bursting of a blood vessel in the brain. Mr. Graham was one of the oldest settlers in Birmingham, for many years beingin the mercantile business, and only retired a few years ago. Funeral services will held in the Free Methodist church, today, Thursday, at 11 o'clock a.m. An obituary will appear next week.
