GEORGE W. KERR

Birmingham---George William Kerr, 72, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at his home here after five years’ illness. He was born August 28, 1869, the son of Christopher and Mary Kerr, on a farm thee miles from Birmingham.

He was married to Miss Bertha Miller November 1, 1905, and is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Johnston of Birmingham; a son; two grandchildren; three sisters and one brother. One brother and five sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Kerr spent all of his life within three miles of Birmingham as a farmer, stock buyer and real estate dealer. He held many local offices and was a member of the Methodist church, Masonic lodge and Knights of Pythias.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Methodist church and with the Rev. F. M. James of Fairfield in charge assisted by the Rev. R. T. Richards. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.
