Jewel Halbrook

Jewel Edna Halbrook, 89, of Farmington, died at 9:20 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Born December 8, 1913, in PeeDee, Arkansas she was the daughter of Albert J. and Ida Jane Dowdy Williams. On January 10, 1942, she married Iral Bratton Halbrook in Austin, Arkansas. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Glenn Halbrook of Farmington; two grandsons; one great-grandson.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 27, at Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, with the Reverend Dempsey Collins officiating.

Burial was in the Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.

A memorial has been established for the Farmington EMS.
