DOUDS - Ivan H. Crenshaw, 81, retired farmer of rural Douds, died at 6:05 a.m. Friday at Van Buren County Hospital where he had been hospitalized since Sunday morning.
The son of Emra and Elizabeth Hall Crenshaw, he was born Sept. 14, 1894 in Jefferson County. On Sept. 5, 1922 he married Anna Belle Hollander in Ottumwa. They farmed in Jefferson and Van Buren Counties, the past 39 years near Douds. Mrs. Crenshaw survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Knecht of Corning and Mrs. Willard Hoskin of Keosauqua; two sons, Melvin of Phoenix, Ariz. and Vinson of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Harold of Stockport. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Crenshaw served in the Army Mounted Engineers in WWI and was a member of Beer-Barker Post 113, American Legion of Keosauqua.
The body is at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua where it will remain until 9 a.m., Monday, when it will be moved to the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds. Services will be held there Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Strauch, United Methodist pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Leando Cemetery.

Ivan H. Crenshaw, son of Emra and Elizabeth Hall Crenshaw, was born September 14, 1894, in Jefferson County north of Stockport, and departed this life Friday, February 20, 1976, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua, at the age of 81.
On September 5, 1922, he married Anna Belle Hollander in Ottumwa.
They farmed in Jefferson and Van Buren Counties the past 39 years on their present farm southwest of Douds.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his widow, 2 daughters, Mrs. Joseph Knecht of Corning and Mrs. Willard Hoskin of Keosauqua; 2 sons, Melvin of Phoenix, Arizona, and Vinson of Whichita, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a brother, Harold of Stockort, 2 daughters-in-law, Doni and Darlene Crenshaw; 2 sons-in-law, Joe Knecht and Willard Hoskin, other relatives and many friends.
Ivan was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Army Mounted Engineers. He was a member of Beer-Barker Post No. 113, American Legion, at Keosauqua.
He was a good friend and neighbor, but he enjoyed most being with his family, as he has a wonderful family. He is gone, but will never be forgotten.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 23, 1976, at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Donald Stauch, United Methodist Pastor, officiating. Vocalists were Mrs. Keith A. Smith and Mrs. Robert Pedrick, accompanied by Mrs. Clyde Loomis. Pallbearers were Ernest Gideon, Richard Stagers, David King, Leo Bass, Howard Frazier, and Warren Miller. Interment was in Leando Cemetery.
