Mrs. ELMER ROSE

Mrs. Alta Rose, 69, wife of Elmer Rose of Ottumwa route 2, died at her home Tuesday at 11:45 p.m.

The daughter of Calvin R. and Mary F. Chisman, she was born in Wapello county August 16, 1878, and was a lifelong resident of this vicinity. Her marriage to Elmer Rose took place November 1, 1899. She had been a member of the Russell Christian church since 1900.

Mrs. Rose is survived by her husband; five sons, Arden C. Rose of near Blakesburg, Dale Rose of Kansas City, the Rev. Ivan Rose of Tama and Roy and Ray Rose, both of Ottumwa; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Proctor of Blakesburg route 1; one brother, M. F. Chisman of Ottumwa and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James H. Chisman, and one sister Eunice.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. E. K. Parrott of the Lovilla Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. Bruce Matthews of the Davis Street Christian church. Burial will be in the Chisman cemetery.
