Jack Sherod

Jack Sherod, 50, died of an apparent heart attack at his home south of Mt. Sterling shortly before midnight Thursday, June 11. He had been ill for about three months.

The son of Craige and Maude Workman Sherod, he was born May 6, 1920 at Keosauqua. On Oct. 27, 1940 he married Betty Lawson at Birmingham.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Plemmons of Okinawa and Mrs. Sheila Campbell of Burlington; a son, Richard, at home; one sister, Mrs. Charles Wallace of Stockport.

He was a member of the Stateline and Bonaparte Saddle clubs.

Services were held Tuesday, June 16 at the Catcott Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard McPeak officiating. Burial was in the Pittsburg Cemetery.

(I actively research the LAWSON lineage.)
