Amanda Louisa Plowman

Amanda Louisa Anson was born in Gilroy, Calif., June 10, 1884, and departed this life Dec. 6th, 1929, ago 45 years, 5 months and 25 days. She came from California to Van Buren county, Iowa, when she was 7 years old and grew to womanhood near Douds, Iowa, where she was united in marriage to Mr. George Plowman. She leaves to mourn her departure, the husband, one son, Anson F.P. and two grandchildren, her mother and father three sisters, Mrs. A.D. Pool, Mrs. Ira Staubus and Mrs. Hubert Hamilton. Besides these there are 16 nieces and nephews and other relatives and a large circle of friends.

She was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church when a young girl and lived a loyal christian life.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the M.E. church in charge of the pastor the Rev. C.H. Chader of Douds.

A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Finney, Mrs. Grace McClure and Mr. Mark Doud sang beautiful and comforting selections. Those attending from abroad were Mrs. Hubert Hamilton of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Mrs. Ira Staubus of Mingo, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Strait and family of Keosauqua, Iowa. Interment was made in Leando cemetery.
