Obituary

Mrs. Omer Wilson (nee) Cornelia Chisman was born in Dearborn county, Indiana, Jan. 2, 1846, and died Nov. 8th 1893. While quite small her parents moved to Wapello Co., Iowa. On the 21 day of February 1866 she was united in marriage to Omer Wilson. To them were born six sons and two daughters. Mrs. Wilson died very suddenly, suffering but a few hours. She leaves a devoted husband and dear children to mourn for her. She was a loving wife, kind mother and will be missed by all who knew her. She had a kind word for every one and was always ready to help those in need, and was respected by all who knew her. The relief Corps of Milton, of which she was a member, and the G.A.R. took charge of the remains. The funeral was held in the M. E. church at Lebanon at 2 o’clock p.m. the 9th inst., Rev. R. Breeden conducting the services and Rev. T. A. Renfro assisting. Her brothers and sisters of Wapello county, Iowa attended the funeral. The remains were followed by one of the largest concourses of sympathizing relatives and friends that was ever witnessed to the Lebanon cemetery, where they were laid tenderly away to await the voice of the Son of God which shall awaken the sleeping dead.
