Frank B. Wilson

Frank Benjamin Wilson, son of Omar and Cornelia Wilson, was born March 1, 1869 on a farm northeast of Milton and passed away at his home north of Milton, February 4, 1949 at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 3 days. Mr. Wilson had been in failing health for the past twelve years but in the last few years had been active in farm work.

On February 26, 1894, he was married to Mary R. J. Robinson. To this union were born two daughters, Delta and Lala. His entire life was spent in the vicinity of Milton except for three years when he and his family lived in Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his wife on July 16, 1938; also by one sister, Mrs. Clara Winn, and three brothers, Arthur, Elmer and Ellis. He is survived by his daughters, Delta, who has cared for her father in the home, and Mrs. Lala Mathies and husband, who live on a nearby farm; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Abernathy of Milton; two brothers, James P. Wilson of Milton and Paul Wilson of Cantril. He leaves besides these a host of nephews and nieces, friends and neighbors who will miss him.

As a youth, Mr. Wilson united with the Milton Methodist church. Before failing health prevented he was active in Sunday school and church work.

Funeral services were held at the Troy Methodist church Sunday afternoon, Feb. 6, at 2:00 P.M. in charge of the Rev. Orley White pastor of the church. Mrs. Dale Hendricks, with Mrs. L. M. Troutman as accompanist, sang “Abide With Me” and “Sunrise.” Pall bearers included George Ensminger, Edgar McGreevy, Donald Hendricks, Harold Brown, Clyde Ensminger and Will Hendricks. Burial was at Sunnyside, Milton. The Brown Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Frank H. Wilson Rites Held Sunday

MILTON---Frank B. Wilson, 79, died unexpectedly Friday at his home north of Milton. He was born March 1, 1869, the son of Omer and Cordelia Wilson.

He was married to Mary J. Robinson, who died in July, 1938. He leaves two daughters, Delta at home and Mrs. Lala Mathias of Milton; two brothers, Jim of Milton and Paul of Cantril; and a sister, Mrs. George Abernathy of Milton. Three brothers, Willis, Arthur and Elmer and a sister, Mrs. Walter Winn, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at the Troy Methodist church Sunday afternoon in charge of the Rev. Orley White, and burial was in Milton Sunnyside cemetery. Music was by Mrs. Dale Hendricks, accompanied by Mrs. L. Troutman. Pallbearers were Will Hendricks, Donald Hendricks, Clyde Ensminger, Harold Brown, Edward McGreevy and George Ensminger.

Note: I do not know which spelling Mathies/Mathias is correct, so I did not make a notation.
